Wrong learning approaches make easy tasks unnecessarily challenging. Russian is no more challenging than any other language I’ve attempted. Within 5 months I was communicating comfortably in Russian, befriending many new people and lived for several more months in Italy with my new Russian girlfriend at the time (who could only speak Russian).Īnd just a few months ago I was able to use Russian extensively during my stay in Georgia. I kept hearing about how difficult Russian is to learn up until that point but my experience there said something very different.

It’s not (or at least doesn’t have to be) a near-impossible undertaking.Ī year or so ago I moved to a small town in Russia and lived immersed in the language having learned almost nothing before arriving.

Today I’m going to convince you that Russian is actually far easier to learn than you’ve been led to believe.
